Evangeline Dhinakaran, fondly known as 'Angel' was the only daughter of our revered Founder & Chancellor Emeritus Late. Dr.D.G.S. Dhinakaran. She had a great desire to raise young people of her age to the highest echelons of the society to glorify God. She left for her eternal abode on 21^st May,1986, a few months before Karunya University was established. In-spite of her absence, we at Karunya firmly believe that her spirit would rejoice to see young people excel in all walks of life realms, including sports. In memory of our beloved Late Sis.Evangeline Dhinakaran the staff, students and Alumni of Karunya University organize the Karunya Evangeline Memorial Tournament (KEMT) every year, bringing together hundreds of sportsmen and women from all over south India and celebrate the excellence of portsmanship.
